Love and Other Drugs

We think this movie was a 4 for 20. This movie was rather cute but the story line and overall plot was just not doing it for us. Jake Gyllenhaal plays a salesman at a second hand appliance store and is fired for fraternizing inappropriately with his bosses wife. Gyllenhaal is quite a ladies man in this movie and uses that to help him get things that he wants or needs "devils charm". A family dinner conversation sparks up how well everyone is doing besides Gyllenhaal. His family full of doctors and inventors are always badgering him to finally do something with his life. He lands a job as a sales representative for  zoloft and his main goal is to be top seller and move to chicago. Along this journey he runs in to a girl named Maggie played by Anne Hathaway. She is a barista at the local coffe shop and is the first girl to reject him. Being a ladies man  he is not used to the rejection and is drawn to her. Maggie is not interested in love because she is ill with stage one of parkisans disease. From here on out the movie is about her, their love, and her constant battle with this disease. Although it is sad and we feel for people with this disease it just doesn't make for a good movie in our opinion. If it had been more about the difficulties of living with the disease and less about them just fighting about it this could of made for a better film. This has nothing to do with the content of the disease this is strictly a movie based opinion.
