Charlie St.Cloud

This movie we both thought was a Buy New movie. Zac Efron did a great job in this movie along with both co-stars Charlie Tahan (who plays Sam his little brother) and Amanda Crews (who plays Tess his love interest). We both expected this movie to be a complete tear jerker and we were right. Efron flexed his acting muscles with his tearful scenes; he did a great job making us feel like we had lost our sibling right along with him. He made a big jump from movies where he is the big man on campus where in this movie people consider him crazy and an outcast. Granted it is a bit creepy that at the age of 23 he is the head care taker to the towns only cemetery and talks to his dead brother everyday at sunset. The movie progresses along allowing the audiance to realize he is not as crazy as the town thinks. The reason he goes to see Sam every day is because he is keeping the promise he made to his brother before he died.In an ironic way seeing his brother enforces Efron's hold on reality and his life. Ray Liotta makes an appearance in this movie as the EMT that brought him back to life after the car accident. Liotta gives him this speech, it is the underlining meaning to the whole film, about how God gives people second chances for a reason and he needs to figure out what it is. And of course he figures it out by the end of the movie. The love interest in the movie Amanda Crews has great chemistry with Efron and they play off each other nicely. Both of us agree that all around this movie was executed very well and the acting was very believable, we felt what the characters were feeling at each given moment.
