Dinner for Schmucks

DC- This was a hands down Buy New movie. We both agree that this was the funnies movie we have seen in a while. The combination of Carell's innocent/ignorant humor coupled with Rudd's sarcasm was spot on. There were many moments were we could relate with Rudd in having a friend that was just as he said " a human tornado", Carell's character meant well throughout the movie, but all the good things he tried to do ended up back firing on Rudd. The writing on this film was superb, there was the right balance of stupid humor (that is all to known to Carell in past films), smart humor, drama, and just out right awkward moments. Carell's character is a taxidermist who finds dead mice, dresses them up like people, and puts them in scenes from his life or movies. The one I (Chelz) thought was the funniest was The Last Supper, he made a Jesus mouse with all his disciples. Rudd's character was similar to his character in I Love You Man where he is working a desk job and has a girlfriend he wants to marry; difference is she doesn't want to marry him yet. The movie shows the progression of these two characters in the road to friendship through outrageous circumstances and moments that are so out of the ordinary they are funny. Zach Galifanakis adds great humor to the cast by being a IRS manager who can read minds and is also sleeping with Carell's wife. In conclusion the whole movie was fantastic, some parts could have been cut down, it flowed well and on top of everything else it made us laugh non stop.
