DC- We went and saw this movie, we thought it was a very interesting movie and would buy it brand new. DiCaprio and Gordon-Levitt did a great job together as well as the rest of the cast. We don't think the movie would have been so great with a different cast every one pulled their weight and performed fantastic. The movie itself was very interesting, we were a little critical before we saw it because to us the previews were to obscure and didn't really express the meaning and purpose of the movie. Throughout the whole movie you do not know what is real and what is a dream, each character has their own "totem" that has a specific balance and weight that only the character knows so they can check if they are in a dream or awake. DiCaprio's totem is this top (seen in picture above) and if it keeps spinning he is in a dream, if it falls he is awake. In the movie we could only recall seeing him spin it once and it is after he wakes from a dream and it fell; the rest of the movie he just plays with it and never spins it really so as the audience you are constantly guessing is this real or a dream. There are two story lines in the movie which make it that much more fun to watch. DiCaprio's wife is always popping into the dreams he is in/having flash backs of her as well as his two kids. There is also the plot of planting an idea into a young mans head via his dream (inception as they call it). As the movie progresses you figure out the type relationship he is having with his wife and why her presents, even to me as a watcher, was unwelcome, painful, and sometimes scary; you find out why you never see his childrens faces. With out giving away the ending I will just say that it keeps you thinking even after the movie ends. Graphics in the movie were top notch, there was a lot of slow motion scenes both long angle and close up. The whole movie itself was easy to follow and very believable, not once during the movie did I think wow I am sitting through a two hour film. It was enjoyable and I haven't seen a movie this inovative in a log time.

Great review I have never even heard of this movie before but after reading this I know I must watch it. Thanks I could of missed out on a great movie.
ReplyDeleteGreat review! I would agree that this movie is a "must see." I really couldn't take my eyes away from the movie. I love suspense! The effects were so subtle and executed perfectly. It is disappointing to watch a movie with so many crazy effects because it can take away from the story line. Not the case here! Love, love, love this movie!
