RED

RED was a buy brand new for sure. There was a perfect blend of comedy & action throughout the entire film. The great acting was natural with a film full of amazing actors and actresses like Bruce Wills, John Malkovich, Helen Mirrien, Morgan Freeman, Mary-Louise Parker, Karl Urban and Brian Cox. Willis, Malkovich, Mirrien, and Freeman are all former CIA agents and considered RED (retired and extremely dangerous). Willis is the lead and the toughest out of the group with a soft side for Parker (who just works at the government call center). Mirrien had the most out of the box role for her because she is a gun shooting killing machine; as they say the "best wet worker in the business". Freeman is the brains of the operation with getting any and all information and creating strategic plans. Malkovich was just outstanding! His character is a highly paranoid man with a child like quality to him; this character scares you yet you laugh because he is just like a little kid. Urban and Cox bring the cast together with one being the unlikely alliance and the other is just doing his job the best way he can. All the elements in this movie work really well together and the best part is the movie starts up right away, there is no long intro explaining everything. Graphic wise RED also excelled there was a lot of explosions and CG effects and nothing looked fake or low budget. Over-all this movie was one of the best movies we have seen all year, a classic A-list movie.
